Carpet Removal

Since the search function is not cooperating, I'll ask for a quick bit of advice.

We're getting ready to remove the carpet and install Allure vinyl flooring in our '99 26.5 MB.

For those who have done this job, do you basically cut the carpet away flush around areas like the dinette rather than attempting to disassemble seating? Seems like it would be easiest and avoid a can of worms.

Thanks,

Charlie

"You will have TONS of staples to pull after the carpet is up."

No kidding! I once recovered the steps of an old LD's overcab ladder, which required pulling a roughly 3" x 9" piece of carpeting off each tread. Every tread had 19 staples!

Charlie, That's exactly the way to do it. Ironically, we just did this a few hours ago to our 26 1/2 MB. Only had to cut under the slideout portion of the dinette closest to the entry door, and from the refrigerator (behind the drivers seat) to the back of the dinette (behind the passenger seat). This is the second LD we've done this too, and the bizillion staples are the biggest PITA!!!!
