Fall Rally in Michigan, GLLDCC
Yahoo Message Number: 147831
The Great Lakes LD CC 2014 Fall Rally is September 11 through 14 at the newly renovated South Haven Jellystone Family Campground in SW Michigan, near Lake Michigan. This is a good time to visit or see a Lazy Daze in the Midwest.
If you wish to join us, please reserve your site by August 16, 2014, to get the best rate, and join us for fun, friendship, food, and LD stuff. New campers are welcome.
The campground is a few miles east of beautiful South Haven, MI and a short drive from several excellent wineries, Saugatuck, Lake Michigan, state parks, shopping, lighthouses, museums, theaters, and hiking and biking trails. There are even reports of dancing in the area. Fishing is extremely good near South Haven. Lake perch sampling is on our agenda.
For those of you who like to hike/bike, we will be close to the popular Kal-Haven trail. The RV park is approximately 1/4 mile south of the Kal-Haven trail. This trail is a "rails to trails" bicycle or hiking state park. The surface is hard packed stone (almost pavement) on top of an abandoned railroad line, If you go left (west) for 5 miles you will be at the South Haven state park (and South Haven), and if you go right (east) for 30 miles you will reach Kalamazoo. There are some limited services along the trail. Permits are no longer needed, so you may hike or bike any area of the trail for free.
Our Campground has sites 29 thru 34, 60 thru 69, and 76, 77, and 78 reserved for LD'ers under Ken Armock's and my name. This park doesn't reserve under the group name yet, so mention Ken Armock with the Lazy Daze Rally to get our discount. I think they will remember us after this visit.
The reduced rates range from $38.33 to $55.00 for E&W to premium EWS and a concrete pad with swing.
The campground reservation number is 269-637-6153. Please remember to reserve one of the Armock Lazy Daze sites.
If you wish to join us, please contact Ken or me and we'll send an agenda. The breezes are balmy, no pythons or alligators, and the night sky over Lake Michigan is spectacular.

Regards and safe travels,
