No water pressure for kitchen faucet May 01, 2014, 10:17:50 pm Yahoo Message Number: 146049I am having a problem with no water coming out of my kitchen faucet. I drained my water tank yesterday and filled it with fresh water. I started with the kitchen faucet to purge the air out of the lines with the pump on and only a trickle of water came out. At first I thought it was the water pump that was malfunctioning, but when I went to the bathroom sink and turned it on I heard the pump come on and water was coming out along with air to finally a steady stream. The same with the shower faucet, no problem. Im baffled..no pressure at all for the kitchen faucet. Anybody else experienced this?

Most likely you stirred up some sediment or calcium and plugged the last hole in the strainer. Some faucets have a cartridge strainer that cannot be easily cleaned, requiring either replacement of the faucet or cutting the cartridge apart to remove the 'crud'. Often, by the time this happens, the faucet is need of replacement anyway.Larry

Yes it was a bunch of "crud" in the stainer of the kitchen faucet and now it is flowing as it should. Thank you Joan and Larry for being "right on" as usual.Martha 2004 MB

After 11 years, the crud in the water finally stopped up the mesh screen in the faucet head. Cleaned it out and it flows fine now.Chris

My wife assures me that a new faucet was the only logical repair option. It does look nice.
