Yes, it very likely could be the TS. I had a brand new one installed after the accident, at the same time I had my gennie worked on. It started failing almost immediately when I took off from AZ for CA.

Went all around the problem, checking everything on the genset, the power center, wiring..everything BUT the TS because the repairman who replaced the TS said he'd never heard of one failing.
Over a month later, I finally sent the old one into the manufacturer, received a new one, installed it, and haven't had a moment's problem since.
They DO fail. My issue was that the gennie would fire right up...run strong...but no power into the rig. But then, it would work..sometimes...after a fairly long delay, well past the normal 30/45 seconds start up.
I don't have [nor know how to use] a multi meter, so I went to the professionals [ha!]...talked to the Onan/Cummins people, generator repair people, etc., who were all sort of perplexed by the symptoms, knowing I had a brand new TS at the time of the incidents.

They thought it was the switch inside the rig, that you flip to initialize the gennie. They thought it might have been the heat, and a too-sensitive sensor on the TS. They thought the genset was surging...or too low HRTZ...all of which was eventually dismissed.

I came to my own conclusion it had to be the TS. It was.
