Ted A few weeks ago, the back-up camera on our 2003 LD died. Calling the vender, RV Cams, they could give me no information on what to look for and suggested replacing the whole package with a new one...at a cost of $400, not what would call good customer service.
http://www.rvcams.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=RBCARVS&Product_Code=70-CHNV&Category_Code=1 So doing a little research, the RV Safety camera system, from Costco looked like a good alternative at $220 from $220 from Amazon. Didn't see the Costco version.
http://www.amazon.com/Rear-View-Safety-Backup-Camera/dp/B002GM5GKO The camera is well built with a wide angle lens and infrared LED illuminator, for night use.
The 7" monitor has the same or better image quality as the old one.
I would give this system a thumbs up.
The package comes with a multiplexer, allowing three cameras to be used and has connections for digital video recorder if you desire to record your journeys...from the back bumper.
You do need to fabricate  mounts for the camera  and monitor.
The camera mount should look something like the old camera's mount shown below.

The monitor needs to be mount somewhere in the cab where it is easy to see.
I made this base to mount the camera on.
