Help!

Brought my rig out of storage for this long weekend, plugged in to shore power and tripped the breaker three different times.  Drove up to the ski slopes and lived off of battery power for a couple of days, hooked up my portable Honda (don't have have an installed generator - 1988 MB).  Same thing happened, shut off the generator.  All of the fuses are good,  everything was working at the end of the summer when I stored it.  Any ideas?

If you plugged into a 15A outlet at home rather than a 30A outlet there could simply be too much demand from items other than the converter that may be turned on.

I am not familiar with the wiring in a unit that old but suspect you probably have a main circuit breaker (30A) inside the LD and a few 15A or 20A breakers.

A good place to start troubleshooting is to turn off all the 120V circuit breakers inside the LD and then connect to shore power.  If the breaker in the house/pedestal doesn't trip at that point, turn on one breaker at a time inside the LD starting with the 30A main breaker until one causes the supply breaker to trip.  That will help you isolate the issue.  If it trips with all LD breakers off then you have a short in the wiring leading to the main breaker.

My MH is a 2005 24ft. I was thinking that there were no 30 amp brakers in the camper. I just went out and checked and there is one (1) 30 amp MAIN braker. There are 2-20 amp for the roof air and microwave. Plus 2-15 amp brakers for the rest of the MH. If you are pluged into the house you MAY be on a 20 amp braker at the most and more likly a 15 amp. Unless you had a seperate line run for a 30 amp braker. When I wired the garage some years ago I made all the brakers 20 amp minimun except for the welder.
