Does anyone have any experience staying at either Buckskin Mountain or Patagonia Lake SP in AZ that they would care to share the pros & cons?

Thanks!

Also love Patagonia Lake SP.  Great kayaking, birding, and fishing.  Great weekend programs including boat trips with rangers on lake for $5. Only con...no drycamping areas, so $25 a night.  Can get crowded in March and April...prime time when bass are spawning and fishermen are out in large numbers.

An added plus...the little town of Patagonia, a  gem of a place with some great pizza and coffee houses.  Also, a commercial RV park there.  Another plus...close to Nogales, Mexico.  Went there for teeth cleaning last month.  Found a superb restaurant in middle of town.  Low priced and excellent Mexican food. So real as compared to Algodones where prices now rival or exceed the US on eye glasses or prescriptions or food.  (Was there last week and very disappointed by the changes over four years.)  Apparently dentistry is still a bargain, but I found prices at Costco and Walmart to be better for glasses and prescriptions under Medicare.
As soon as one adds special add-on features, like polarized lenses, antiglare, etc. prices zoom up.  In fact, one  salesperson said they would have to send the glasses to Phoenix to get some normal features covered by Costco.  Times are changing.

Happy Travels!

I have yet to see a Mexican optician who even comes close to competing with Zenni. I and my friends have been buying glasses from them for five years or more and have nothing but good things to say about the prices, and equally important, the selection and customer service.

Thanks Andy.  Zenni looks exactly what we are looking for.

You got that right Andy but I still know people who won't use them because they are to cheap.

Thanks for that link Andy. Looks like something I would be interested in.
I think for Algodones, they are good for dental and expensive prescriptions. If you have Medicare D for prescriptions, you probably won't save much, if any until you hit the doughnut hole. Then the savings would be substantial. We go the other direction and buy our high priced prescriptions from Canada while in the doughnut hole. I just don't feel very comfortable in the Mexican border towns anymore. I do know people who get all their dental work done in Algodones, and they are very happy with both the dentistry and the cost.
