refrigerator not woking on gas

Need some help with a Dometic refrigerator. This is in our 1996 LD.   It has worked normally until the last weekend trip.
 If works on AC, but when I ask it to switch to gas, it lights normally, I here the gas flow and the ignition light,  and after about 5 minutes I get the "check" light.  Cycling it off and back on I still get the same condition repeating.
If it was a water heater in my stick house I would suspect the thermocouple.   Can anyone direct me on what to check first?

You might want to check for the following: Clogged burner orifice

Obstruction in the burner tube, e.g., spider webs or other Low LPG pressure

Loose burner assembly

Thermocouple feeler point not located in the flame Failed thermocouple

Gas refrigerators need periodic service. Laurelhurst Distributing in Portland (trainers of RV techs and a great service center) recommend a cleaning service every two years on refrigerators.

Problem solved.

Thank you Joan for your thoughts on what needs to be checked to get my refrig. working again on gas. Is was an easy fix after pulling the cover plates away.  The thermocouple had slipped back slightly and was not directly in the flame. The tab that has the job of holding the thermocouple in place was not in the proper position.   Second problem was a large flake of rust from the flue that shorted the igniter.  All is well now, Thank You LD team!

Glad you found the problem. In my experience, the thermocouple feeler point can slip out of position pretty easily; this happened to my rig's refrigerator a few years ago after the Dometic recall 'sheet aluminum bandaid' was done.
