Be sure to notify your insurance company if you plan to store your LD for an extended period of time. They will in all likelihood recommend that you remove the collision and liability coverage for the period during which the LD will be in storage and leave the comprehensive portion of the policy intact, protecting you in case of a loss.

(The change in premium is dramatic)
 Put a note on the drivers seat reminding you to contact the insurance company and reinstate full coverage when you get back on the road again!

Thanks for the tip, Todd. Great advice for most ins. cos. - unfortunately, Progressive won't do it. And if anyone else has a different experience, let me know. (I'm a retired insurance agent).

Liberty Mutual will do it and I believe American Family will too.
 (My annualized premium goes from about $750 to $120 during the period of storage).
