Michael said: No. The escape hatch was downgraded to just a regular  vent. An extra cost  Fantastic vent fan can be added to that so as to have  a powered vent. The fan couldn't be added to the escape hatch. Only the  entertainment center versions have no vent, but they have no side windows or bed  either. RonB

Regarding the vent in the cab-over, this is off the 2013 Lazy Daze price list as standard equipment ,"12V variable speed, reverse direction Fan-Tastic ceiling fan with thermostat control in cab-over". Knowing that it is never good to make an assumption, I would bet that 2014 will be the same. We ordered a 2014 MB in April 2013.

Anyone have the "facts' on why LD eliminated the escape hatch? You would think after 4 or 5 decades, they would have it figured out.  Having just ordered one from the Mothership, they are still available..
One reason may be cost cutting, a  small 14" X 14" vent is much cheaper than a large escape hatch.

It's true, as mention before that a fan cannot be installed in the escape hatch. You can get good air flow through it by using the existing Fantastic Fan(s) to push or pull air through the escape hatch.
Our LD is wired so that a Fantastic fan can be operable from the bunk, nice to use on warm night and even nicer to turn off, without getting up, if it gets too cold.
Oh, BTW, a heater on-off switch can also be wired to be operable from the bunk. wonderful on frosty winter mornings.

Besides missing the view of the stars, when bunking upstairs,  the elimination of the escape hatch has cut the the route many take to the roof, when cleaning the solar panels. The reverse angle of the ladder is to much for many to climb.
