I do not think the Mothership made 2005 LDs w/o generators.  So, was this one taken out?

I would gratefully appreciate if it possible to know the Dollar amount one needs for replacement/ repairs and what would be an ideal price for the Lazy daze. I had contacted the General Manager and he was willing to sell for 30K something plus cost. He did not amplify amount of "cost".
I kind of throttled back since I am more interested in the Mid Bath model.
Any inputs / thoughts on the subject are welcome in order to make me buy and realize my dream. :) Thank you all in anticipation.
Best Regards Raja

This is actually a 2004 I would suggest taking a lazy daze enthusiast if you were to look at it. The sale rep that i met with was really clueless on the brand.

Johnny B.'s information has interesting implications. (Johnny, I assume you actually looked at this rig?) No generator... well, I think it may have been possible to ask the factory to omit that when placing an order, so I'm guessing that's what happened here. Sounds as if the original owner was pretty serious about going all-solar, with four panels (I wonder what wattage?), a 1,700 watt inverter/charger, and three batteries. The latter means that 12V batteries were used rather than the standard 6V Trojans--perhaps big 12V AGMs in the generator compartment? I'm just guessing here.

The electrical upgrades sound good, but the rig has two drawbacks: lack of a generator means no air conditioning unless plugged in; and the 26.5' island bed layout has less usable daytime living space than any LD model, including the 23-footers. But if a prospective buyer were planning to travel only in areas where air conditioning wasn't an issue--or to stay only in parks with electric hookups--and put a high priority on having a full-sized bed that was always available, then perhaps this could be attractive.

To answer Raja's questions, Barry's estimated asking prices chart suggests that $41,500 would be in the ballpark for a 26-footer of this vintage, and one could expect to spend about $1,200-$1,600 on new tires. In general, we recommend setting aside at least $3,000 when buying a used rig of this age, to cover things like tires, resealing and other odds and ends that inevitably come up.

I'll just add that you need to think carefully before choosing any rig--and especially this unpopular floorplan--because no matter how low the price is, if it doesn't suit your needs, it's no bargain.

Yes, according to the VIN it is a 2004.

The description also mentions a 6 speed automatic transmission.

Did anyone see this rig advertised anywhere before it surfaced on this lot?

Team, I did look at this unit. I currently have a 1998 30 IB I was interested in this model for the fact of the separate sleeping arrangement. I have a young daughter and the idea of the queen  bed and the overhead rack appealed to us. Yet as andy states the living space is very compact to say the least.
The solar arrangement is a great set up for some boon-docking. (Battery bank was 12 volt sealed) the cost to retro a generator for me would not be a good ROI in my opinion.

As reported earlier, McMahon RV has frontage alongside the N 405 at the Valley View exit. The LD in question was clearly displayed on the front line with a large $39,999 on the windshield this morning. This evening, we drove by again on our way back from Costco. The LD is not there.

Test drive, ploy, or was it sold?

A point of reference.  In early August the "Dealer's Wholesale Bluebook Value" of a 2005 26.5 ft LD (MB, RB. or RK) was $28,000 if the rig had less than 60K (?) miles on it.  A 2004 model would be something less.   A new edition of the "Dealer's Bluebook" came out in September and the values probably dropped a bit.   The exact configuration (i.e. no genset) would not make a difference in the wholesale value even though it is a consideration for a prospective buyer.
If McMahon RV acquired this rig as a trade-in, the trade-in allowance was probably close to the wholesale value; which I think is typical of many RV dealers.   McMahon might have "given up profit" on the newly purchased rig and made a larger trade-in allowance, but this does not change the wholesale value of the rig.  If McMahon acquired it at a "wholesale auction" it is hard to say what they paid for it;  depends on how long it has been "kicking around" on the market.
IMHO the $35K asking price on McMahon's web site is pretty high.  I would think that something like "wholesale plus $5K" would be more appropriate.  The problem though, is getting the current dealer wholesale value.  You need a "dealer friend" that is willing to provide this.  Certainly the value won't come from McMahon.
