Stops along I40 September 20, 2013, 06:42:08 pm Yahoo Message Number: 142800After a stop at the South Rim in a few weeks, we will be traveling along I40 east then eventually down into Texas. Looking for interesting sights/campgrounds along this route? Interested more in National and State Parks but willing to venture into other venues.David 05RK

State park south of Amarilo"Palo Duro Canyon is a lovely park, but be aware that there is a long, sharply twisting 10% grade leading down to the campground. You'll need to be in first gear both going down and coming back up. Don't even think about trying to ride your brakes on this stretch; let engine braking do the work. Start slow and stay slow, and you'll be safe. It's worth it!Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels
Re: visiting the Bush Library Reply #5 – September 21, 2013, 07:00:57 pm Yahoo Message Number: 142814Anybody been to the Bush Library on the campus of SMU outside Dallas? From what I can gather you can not park an rv on site but have to park at a transit station and ride it to SMU. Always thinking about safety.David 05RK
