cracked window September 15, 2013, 08:23:14 pm Yahoo Message Number: 142668Help,I have been resealing all the windows in my '88MB and dealing a touch of dry rot along the way. Climbed into the over cab bunk yesterday to remove the side windows and noticed that the front window has a spider crack in it. Do I need LD glass or can I get tinted automotive glass from a local shop. I never use the bunk, except for storage, not worried about the color of the tint. I keep a sheet of foam in front of the window anyway to reduce heat loss during the winter. (that's why I hadn't noticed the crack until yesterday). Getting things ready for the winter ski season. Thanks,Paul

The crack itself did not leak, but caused problems with sealing the window to the frame. I replaced it with a similar thickness of Lexan, untinted, to better withstand impact and reduce thermal transmission. Like you, we kept the window covered with foam inside.Steve
