Blow out...

Todd, You know the service person had a socket big enough for the real lug nuts. So when he makes a comment: "...didn't know if he had a wrench big enough"  to remove the chrome wheel cover! " that makes it sound like he thought the fake  chrome lug nuts were the actual nuts he needed to remove. To me that betrays a  lack of knowledge about motorhomes and simulated wheel covers. I hope he was  just joking. As Steve said, you need to know how to remove them yourself so you  can keep an eye on the service person, to help them remove and reinstall  the covers properly.
It seems to me that your first responder had to be really  poorly equipped if he couldn't change a tire, Whether you had a trailer or a  motorhome.
All he needed to provide was labor, since you should have all of the  tools onboard to change a tire.
So how old were the two tires that aren't ten years old? And  how old is that spare tire?  With six vehicles I take care of, I put a  piece of that blue painters tape on each spare, and put the age of the tire, the pressure, and the last time I checked it. A lot of times the tires are stored in wells where the date codes and fillers are face down. My LD spare has a valve extension, so I can check the pressure without removing the wheel. I also have a  1/2" drive deep socket, six sided suitable for impact, taped to the mounting bracket, just in case. RonB
