Researching replacement of either a Parallex 7345 RU or Progressive Dynamics PD 4645 upgrade. Would appreciate comments on either as direct replacement. Will have tech do the removal and replacing. Is one preferable? We most always plug in to shore, rarely boondock- use the Trojan T-105's. Original Magnatek boiled batteries way too often. LD is a 2000 IB. TIA for comments. Norma  (LD 2000 IB)

Perhaps put a timer on the charge line while in storage, 1 hour a day will suffice. No boiled batteries saves power.

Norma, several of us have installed this upgrade kit from Best Converter.  Easy install and 3 way charger.  You can call or email them for recommendations as well.  They do respond quickly.

To answer your question directly, Norma, the Progressive Dynamics PD 4645 converter is generally regarded as superior to the Parallax--easier on your batteries, and probably a bit faster charging as well, due to its intelligent 3-stage charging circuitry. The upgrade kit that Joe recommended is the way I'd go it I were you.

Thanks Andy. That is what I was looking for.  My research thru the LD group indicated the progressive dynamics. My tech suggested the other, and I wasn't sure if there was discernable difference. I'll go with LD experience. Thanks to all for answering my request. It is a pleasure to be associated with this group of helpful people. Norma
