Toad fire
Yahoo Message Number: 137557
Hi Group;I have been on the road heading back to NYS and fell behind in my readings.  My sympathy to the owner of the toad that caught on fire.  What I am wondering about is how the fire started with his Brake Buddy as I also use the BB for 7 years now.  As I understood it he had disconnected the BB due to its causing the toad battery to lose its charge.  If the BB was not connected to the battery I cannot understand why it would suddenly function and cause the brakes to lock up.  There are 3 cables used when hooking up the BB.  There is the lights cable, the breakaway, and the hook up to the battery.  Even if the first two were connected without the battery connection I do not think the BB can operate.  What am I missing or where is my thinking wrong?

Thanks, MikePS: thanks to the two individuals who replied about using Eternabond on my Klepper kayak.  I was not going to use the Eternabond to patch holes.  Rather as a cover over wear points to protect the hull.  Preventive Maintenance in other words to prevent damage to the hull.  All I recall about tape sold by Feathercraft, Klepper, etc is that it is very expensive and requires a strong glue and is a very messy job.  Applying Eternabond to the LD roof was a much simpler job.  Whether the Eternabond wil adhere in a marine environment is the question.
