re-calculating

are you tired of hearing 're-calculating' on your Garmin? I just found a program that allows you to change what is said. I have not personnaly tried this but am really considering it. Let me know if you tried it and liked it.

TTSVoiceEditor has been tested on Garmin models: •Nuvi 1xxx and 3xxx •Nuvi 7x0, 255W, 260, 3x0, 6x0, 8x0, 1490 •Nuvi 7x5, 255W, 265, 3x5, 6x5, 8x5 •Zumo •StreetPilot C550, C580 and 2730.
•StreetPilot C310, C340 and C510. Read this and that by Hornbyp.

It is NOT compabible with the following models: •Nuvi 250W (this model does not support TTS voice) •StreetPilot C320 (this model does not support TTS voice)

 I have several Garmin GPS's.  One of them does not say 're-calculating' .  It just quietly recalculates and gives the new directions without any comment, and you never know whether or not the last intersection or road was the one you should have taken or not.  I get a much better felling when I know I missed something and am not going the optimum route in its opinion.
 Of course, the repetitive  're-calculating' can get annoying when you are deliberately ignoring the Garmin's routing, but personally I would not change the SW on my models which say 're-calculating' .

I have been using it for a few years and have had no problem. Of course, if you download voice updates it will remove your changes and you will have to make them again, if you want.
 The first time I used it I changed re-calculating to Dammit Jim. However, when it got into a loop of saying it over and over again because of my driving I started to throw the GPS out the window and Daniel did sound snotty.
