National Park websites January 26, 2013, 09:09:51 am Yahoo Message Number: 136422The official website of any national park is the most current and comprehensive source of information; this resource should be the first stop when trip-planning, IMO. This tip is old news for some, but not for all; this makes it easy and convenient to connect quickly to the website of any national park or national monument without using a search engine to bring up a link:Type "www.nps.gov/ " in the browser bar. Following the slash, type the first four letters of the park's name if it is a single word, e.g., www.nps.gov/yell for Yellowstone. If the park's name is two words, type the first two letters of each following the slash, e.g., www.nps.gov/grte for Grand Teton. Be sure that you have the correct name of the park; for example, the commonly-called "Smoky Mountains" is actually "Great Smoky Mountains", so the URL would be, www.nps.gov/grsmHave fun!Joan
