How about purchasing a pair of the LD overhead cabinet hinges, having a cabinet door made, a shelf at mid-point, and installing that set-up after you remove the microwave? You can always have the cabinet door made to look very different (which is a lot better than "almost as good as...") with either a painted scene, some photographs, decoupage, a blackboard paint so you can write notes, or myriad other decorative touches.

This option actually came up when I spoke to Todd @ the home office: they could make a custom cabinet lid. At that point, I said, thanks but no thanks and bounced back to Vicky to get my other (standard) parts.
The law of diminishing marginal returns quickly kicks into gear whenever one wanders off the ranch. I figure it's one thing for them to have a standardized cabinet lid that is plug-compatible, but an entirely different thing if it's custom.

Hi, I removed the microwave on my 2007 RK. The cabinet door that is beneath the fridge was the right size to cover the space. I got the door and the hardware from the factory for a reasonable price. I'm happy with how the door looks and I enjoy the extra storage space. Look at the cabinet doors in your coach and see if one will fit in the microwave spot, then order and install it.

I initially measured all of our existing cabinet doors to see if any could serve as a MV cover - none came close. If they had, I would have done what you did ie just order another one as a standard part and install it myself. (Btw, we have two drawers under our refrigerator, so that wasn't a consideration.)
I wasn't aware that they had other different sizes for different models, but that just introduces another set of problems, mainly mix & match. At some point, you get a sense that a simple 'what if' project could quickly morph into a nightmare.
