LED Step well light December 02, 2012, 03:54:06 pm Yahoo Message Number: 135487Hi Chris. That is the light. LPC-x-W2. The x is replaced with a B for black. I have a spare chromed brass one. I didn't like the chrome look, but the metal would withstand impacts better. The N goes in front of the W2 to specify the color temperature of the light. I chose the brighter 6500k light for visibility. Not reading or worried about color rendition. In comparing the old light I removed to the chrome one, the screw spacing is the same. The body of the LED is shorter and may not cover a large hole behind it as well as the old fixture but the mothership hole for the wiring was small enough to not show. The LED comes with a rubber gasket, not needed indoors, but there might be some light leakage in the upward direction. The factory had two black wires, so I used a meter to determine which was the 12v. to hook to the red and black wires on the new light. Re: LED Step well light Reply #2 – December 03, 2012, 10:42:46 am Yahoo Message Number: 135498I've ordered this one on eBay ($5, free shipping). . . haven't received it yet, but it looks to be good quality, powder coat over aluminum, and very low profile - - I'll probably spray paint them tan. It's wider than the LD light so hole spacing won't be an issue, nor will filling in a bit of original hole below the new fixture. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cabin-white-LED-Courtesy-Lights-12V-/330834558276?pt=Boat_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item4d0746bd44&vxp=mtrbumper[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Being metal, they should be resilient to impacts. The IP65 rating means it can be used in wet conditions, an advantage for exterior application.Larry
