I agree that removing the chlorine is not a good idea since it helps keep the tank fresh. It's something I should have thought of myself a long time ago.Thank you, Safoocat.George

When reacting with organics, it produces chloramines, which are no longer useful for removing the organics, and those hang around a very long time, responsible for the 'chlorine' taste. They can also do unpleasant things to us.Steve
