Has anyone camped at either Lower or Upper Grays Meadow Inyo NF campgrounds on Onion Valley Rd. out of Independence, CA?  Comments?

TIA.

If you do, please let us know how it turns out.. We might want to head up that route next month.. The kids & wife haven't been up to Bishop yet and it sounds fun.. !

As I recall, they are unremarkable CG's on the lower slopes of the Sierra Nevada. Upper may have a better view of the valley.
In that area, we always park in the Alabama Hills, rather than a CG.

Joan, tent camped there every summer but that was over 50 years ago.  You are next to Independence Creek.  Quiet and shady but not sure about spaces for RV's.  Kind of a steep straight road where lower gears would help going down.  Let me know if you go.  Would bring back memories.

Camped there (Upper) this past fall - found the campground pleasant for a quiet couple days of reading, pretend fishing. Good solar and nice views of the valley from the open sites.
