I repainted my 2000 MB faux overcab windows, not black, but with a Lazy Daze color. I went to an Auto Parts store that puts together spray cans of auto paint and had them make up a can of Lazy Daze green and used that to repaint those faux windows. Look GREAT. Matches the rest of the RV which the black never did.

That looks excellent, Dan. The factory should have been doing this all along! It definitely looks better than the old black fake windows, and in my humble opinion it even looks better than the new sculptured white overcab.

How many pieces of green paper and what numbers did they have on them. I've never had that done and no idea of what it costs..

It looks really good..

You should be happy that you have those faux overcab windows!  I'd love to have them, even if they were painted orange!!  My SOB has a glass window across the front of the cabover, and last fall I had a large bird fly into it as I was driving down the road at about 55 mph.  BANG and we 'enjoyed' a shower of safety glass raining down on us.  It's all fixed now and I think that I have all of the glass removed but what a mess!

As best as I can recall, it was less than an Andrew Jackson for the can of spray paint and sand paper.

I also painted my faux overcab windows about 5 years ago.  I took one of the screwdowns for a rear fender skirt and had Sherw

The older LDs had a glass window and the cab over was made out of aluminum (not fiberglass as the present ones are.)
There is one parked in our neighborhood that has a dent in the cabover between the edge of the window and the side edge of the LD.
He said that he was driving on CA highway 395 and a roadrunner bird flew up in front of him and he hit it.  It did not hit the window or damage the window.
I think that LD has learned that the difficulty of keeping that glass front window sealed against leaks is not worth the trouble.

During our last LD trip, we had those black faux windows painted with an original mural by a Navajo sign-paint family
