30amp plug wired backwards?
Yahoo Message Number: 129100
My shore power plug broke (the plastic housing), so I picked up a new one. When I opened the old plug I found the black and white wires reversed if I go by the markings on both the old and the new housings. Is this the way they are wired from the factory? I assume I wire it back just as I found it since everything seemed to be working fine. What gives?

Wire it as you found it and then use a conductivity tester to verify that is is wired correctly or, better yet, check it before you wire the new plug.

Just to make sure, convention is that white is 'neutral', green is 'ground', and the other color - black, red, or blue typically - is 'hot'.
