Suggestions for Morro Bay
Yahoo Message Number: 128893
We spent a little time in Morro Bay last summer and are planning to go back for several weeks this summer.  We liked where we stayed but are wondering if there is a better place.  Does anyone have a favorite RV park they could share with us.  I am thinking we need to secure our reservations soon.  Thanks ... Connie

We visit Morro Bay frequently and usually stay at the state park, next to the marina. Reservations are available for all sites from Memorial Day to Labor Day and for hook-up sites year-round.
Another choice is Montana de Oro SP, located at the extreme south end of the Bay. It is remote and primitive (no water or dump) but is very scenic with miles of trails along the bluffs and in the hills above. You can even hike into beach property that is part of the Diablo Canyon power plant. When we stay there for more than a few days and need to dump, we will drive the LD into Morro Bay to dump and add water, at the state park. They will let you in with proof of registration at Montana de Oro.
If a RV park is your choice, Morro Dunes isn't bad and is right across the street from the beach.
Reserve now because MB and the rest of the Central Coast campgrounds book early with Central Valley folks escaping the heat.
If you have a toad, bring it. There is a lot to do in the area if you can get there. Consider renting if you do not have a toad.
Come to our annual Yahoo GTG at Morro Bay state Park, the weekend of March 21-23, and you will undoubtedly meet many others who know the area well.

Hi Larry, I responded but was not logged in and I don't think it posted. I hope this is not a double post.  I went ahead and reserved the place we stayed last year.  It was nice and close everything, and  as you said everything is filling up already.  We do tow and last year we went to Hearst Castle.  Any other suggestions for day trips?  We will be there about 2 months.  We have never stayed anywhere that long before....it will be a new experience for us...hope we like it..LOL.

Thanks again,  Connie
