LD Wiring Schematic
Yahoo Message Number: 128861
Thought I posted this a couple of weeks ago but can't find it now.
I asked if anyone has seen a schematic for a LD.  I have a 2005 26.5 RK and  I'm thinking of installing a hard wired surge protector and feel the schematic would come in handy.  Does anyone know of one?

Thanks,

David

David,
Alas there is a top level diagram in the Manual that is generic to all Lazy Daze coaches. I wouldn't call it a schematic. There are no wire colors or harness paths laid out in a specific model. Nothing like what you can find on the coach cab from Ford. So the best you can do is label and tag your way along, making your own as you go. I asked Todd about it and he gave me company policy quibble like its too hard to do for the manual.
I personally think that is a cop out. They have to have something to build the coach from. Heck Even Winnebago makes a better electrical section in their manual than the one I got from LD.

YMMV, Lydia

David

Nothing exist that would be of any help.
The surge protector is wired between the transfer switch and power center's main breaker. Technically simple but the access is a PIA.

"Check with Mr. Andy Baird!"
Sorry to disappoint you, but I just have the sketchy, generic wiring diagram in my 2003 owner's manual. Wish I had something better, but I don't.

I had extra 12v and 115v plugs installed over the bunks in the back of my 2003 MB. The 115v quit working, so after a bit of normal troubleshooting (looking for hidden breakers) without any success I called the mothership.
Their advice was to follow the wires via 115v plugs via "Where they may have run them". In other words the actual wiring depends on who does it when they add the optional plugs during coach building. I would have loved a diagram that showed exactly where optional wiring "should" originates from.
In this case they may have run the wires from the bathroom overhead plug, or from the plug inside near the floor on the shower wall. "Normally" they run the wires to shower wall plug from the bathroom plug.
So much for wiring diagrams. I have a broken wire somewhere. The bathroom plug works, but none of the others in the back. Truth in lending here - I did have an accident (drove too close to a cattle guard brace) near the black water tank outlet that was corrected by a shoddy outfit in south Texas (repaired fiberglass skirt and failed repair to tank). I eventually went back to California just to get the black water tank fixed properly (new tank installed). The back plugs died years later, but plugs do not normally "die" unless there is a catastrophic reason or somebody did a shoddy repair that eventually broke. I know what wire is broken (the one between the bathroom and the shower wall plug via a ohm meter tester) but not where.
I have just borrowed my neighbors wire tracer so that I can try to find the break before I take my next trip to Sun n Fun (Lakeland, Fl.) in a couple of weeks.
Anyway - I do appreciate the input from the factory - it helps with troubleshooting.

Regards

Tom

As luck would have it.  After some great responses to my post, I may have an opportunity to get a protable surge protector for free.  Seems the previous owner may be willing to give me the one he has.
Also received some good instructions from Ted should I go the internal hard wire route.

Thanks to everyone for their input.  This LD site is teriffic.

In the interest of credit going where it's due, the excellent instructions that I passed along to David were from Larry W.
