Yesterday's feature article in LA Times was about Leonard Knight and Salvation Mountain.

 You'll read that Leonard is now in a special home near San Diego. The future of his beloved Salvation Mountain is in question, though several efforts are already underway.  My two visits there included long talks with Leonard, some captured on video. •• Jack

Chuck and I stopped at Salvation Mountain on our way home from the LD rally at Quartszite. That was early in the month, and we were told Leonard had died the previous week. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to him when I first camped there in 2004. I'm sure he's in a technicolor heaven somewhere. He's one person who surely has won Pascal's Wager.
I encourage everyone who's traveling in the Salton Sea area to visit, as without Leonard's constant care, who knows how this work of love and art will survive.
