How do Lazy Daze owners or any RV owners feel about truck washes for their RV's..??  I guess a good example is Blue Beacon.  There seems to be well over 100 of them around the country, along with others.  We used to do our toyota motor home ourselves, but have been thinking of taking to a professional wash place.

wrote: How do Lazy Daze owners or any RV owners feel about truck washes for their RV's..?? --- *One* time I paid to have my rig washed by an "RV wash" outfit; that was enough to remind me that I was perfectly capable of doing the whole job, including the roof, myself. But, if one chooses to have the rig washed by a crew or a DIY truck wash place, I suggest avoiding "truck wash" places which use high-pressure water delivery; the battery, refrigerator, and water heater compartments are all vented, and excess water "jetted" into these areas is not a good idea. Also, exterior compartments may not be sealed sufficiently to withstand blasts from a high-pressure water hose.

On this one, YMMV for sure.

Joan, that is an excellent point which I never considered being the high pressure water sprays.  I have used Blue Beacon a few times, but by the time I pay them $45, and then tip....  very honestly, we could have washed it four times ourselves.

I'm kind of in the do it myself camp.  That way I can inspect her as I wash and dry the whole RV.  And pressure washers, while wonderful for concrete, seem harsh for paint, even on their most gentle setting.  For waxing, I prefer Tim Pease to use LD products.  With his move though up North, that has made it a bit more difficult although I know he will bundle jobs to come to So Cal.

Got to go, my rig needs attending....
