The "trickledown" theory doesn't work anywhere (except water overflowing the bathtub upstairs), so we're safe! It's these concerns that do lead many solar advocates to encourage distributed installations on houses, warehouses, parking lots, and other places where the environment won't be affected, unlike very large utility installations.
