1979 LD Front Lounge Solar Panel Questions

Just got my first LD and there is a solar panel on the roof as well as a control panel inside. Does this trickle charge the house batteries? Do I need to do anything to make sure it's working? The gauge on the control panel does say that it is charging.

The previous owner would have installed the panel and the controller. If you count the number of cells in the panel and give it's overall dimensions, we can probably give an estimate of its capability. Likewise, any info on the front panel of the charge controller will probably let you Google it. Of course, it won't do much until you put in a battery.
