Does anyone here know a source for the skylight on an '06 MB - other than the factory. A manufacturer and part number would help.

I painted mine with several coats of 'for plastic' spray paint as well. But if I had to replace it, I'd make one out of sheet metal. Painted white to keep it from heating up too much, it would last the life of the RV. If you go this route, have the sheet metal shop either put two creases diagonally from corner to corner prior to bending the edges down. This to add rigidity so it won't 'oil can'. One could also roll a couple of beads for the same purpose.

Do you mean you would give up the skylight? Since you educated me that Lexan is readily available at Home Depot, I had thought that if/when our skylight cracks, I would retain the frame and install Lexan in it.

If you can't find one elsewhere, why not use the company below to fab up a complete replacement that's the same size but perhaps a thicker material?? I've got no affiliation with these guys but they can do custom sizes if it's not already in their arsenal of sizes and shapes..

Just passing that along.. Their advertised turnoaround time is 2-4 weeks..

Don,
Agreed, that was shamefully inconsiderate of me :c). You see, I keep the shower skylight plugged with a foam insert - - keeps the heat out in summer and insulates against the cold in winter. I never use the skylight feature so wouldn't miss it. That said, it would be fairly simple to make a new one of either Lexan or thick (1/4') acrylic (Plexiglas) using either the old frame of making a new one from aluminum angle. Then, of course, one would need to make a nice foam insert.
