November 28, 2011, 10:49:52 pm Yahoo Message Number: 126948Anyyone run into this?My 93 LD refuses to take gas the pump shuts off instantly when turned on!DIsconected a line up front to the 2 square cannisters and went for about 3K miles with no problem. Now did it again!Ford said somthing about the purge valve being stuck but find it hard to see why can't get fuel in when the big vent line from the tank to the filler neck is OK!Took off the fill and vent hoses find with probing that there seems to be something like a valve etc about 6"into the fill line?Can't even try to look in fill spout with tank in place, anyone have any ideas on this??Can't believe with all the old F350 Fords out there this is the only one with this problem!

It turned out some "prankster" had put a golf ball into my gas tank. This was in the days before locking gas caps/doors. I sincerely hope this is not the case with your LD.
