Adding Solar

On an '06, how much solar can be added to an existing installation. It has one factory installed panel. According to what I find here, I guess it's an AM Solar 100W, don't know what model LD uses. Does LD use sufficiently heavy wiring for adding to - or should I figure on replacing the leads ?

As originally configured from the factory my '04 30'IB had two 85w panels.
Some time later I had AM Solar replace those 85w with two 100w panels. When Greg Holder asked me if I wanted to upgrade the wiring, I in turn asked him if it was necessary. He said no, so I still have the original wiring and have not been concerned about performance.

I do not know about more than two panels.

Re: solar panels and wire.
Steve, when we were at AM Solar for replacement panels (2-85's to 3-100's) they recommended going to the heavier wire due to the power increase. Those 3 panels sure make a difference. Take care, john leach

wrote: Does LD use sufficiently heavy wiring for adding to - or should I figure on replacing the leads ? --- I had one factory-installed 85W panel on my 2003 TK; AM Solar replaced this with two 100W panels. Replacing the wiring (for the original 85W) with "heavier", load-appropriate lines was necessary.
AM Solar answers emails and phone calls on "systems" questions; the "Education" link on their site (www.amsolar.com) contains some helpful information also.
