Left/Right Dash Turn Signal Indicator
Yahoo Message Number: 126258
Just wondering if anyone has added an after market device which shows a clearer immage and has a louder sound indicator when the left or right turn signals are on.    As I get older, my hearing has become compromised and I am pre-hearing aid.   In the meantime, I am wondering if there is something that can help me see and hear the turn signals better.
Sometimes when I am driving I tip the steering wheel down to a lower position, and when I do that it blocks my view of the dash indicators.   Sometimes when the sun is shining, that also  makes it harder to see the dash.   Our rig is a 2005 model.   Thanks for any suggestions, Beth

--- Terry Tanner's "Techsnoz" site (http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Techsnoz/ ; it's a membership site) contains a "Turn Signal Buzzer" file; the link is:

I don't know of any way to make the turn signal display "brighter" or any more visible, but the "fix" described in the file should definitely make the turn signal audible.

Dave,
The original post mentioned an '05 LD and those do have a flasher module.  I have that year's LD model and have had to replace the flasher.
I'm sure you're right about the "more modern" vehicles.  An independent part of the system has been integrated into the computer controlled ones.  Nothing like putting all your eggs in one basket! :)

Right you are  :)   The turn signal on our chevy was working fine, but became totally silent. Minorly baffled by that, I turn to google for research.  I had not realized the stereo speaker

Alex, You mentioned that you replaced the flasher.   Did you do it yourself, or did you take it to Ford or a private mechanic?    I appreciate all the help this group provides.   Beth

I replaced it myself, buying an equivalent part from an auto parts place.  The flasher module is plugged in under the dash.
It's been a while so I couldn't tell you exactly which part number that was.  It should be in the Ford manual. But, in any case, an auto parts place would help you out with that.
