Low Clearance/ Tight fit

I've only owned my 2001 26.5 RK for 3 months and I'm trying to fit it into my building for the first time. It's very close, about 1 inch at the top of the a/c unit.  can I safely deflate my Michelin LTXs to get an inch or 2? Thanks Wayne

Yes Wayne you can safely deflate your tires to gain the inch or two.  Years ago while working at the Lincoln Tunnel under New York's Hudson River, it was the first thing we did when an over height entered the tunnel by mistake. Just be sure and not let so much air out as to break then "bead" between the tire and rim. Plus you don't want to drive fast or long distance with under inflated tires, but for what you want to do it is ok.
Caution. Always check your clearance before moving in or out of the building. Personally I don't like this approach, one day you may forget to air down and ............Ouch!

Thanks for the replies folks. I tried deflating the tires to 18 psi and taking the top off the a/c unit and it still wasn't quite enough. Next I think I'll have the door company try to raise the rollup door to my building 5 or 6 inches, that should work.

If the door is a sectional roll-up door,  a door company should be able to add slats to the curtain , to make up for the increased height. Naturally, the door's header will need to be raised.
If the curtain is the single-piece, corrugated-type, and does not has the needed extra length available, the whole curtain will need to be replaced.
Whatever you need to do, getting the LD inside is a wonderful plus and is worth the effort (and sure beats letting the air out of the tires).
