Preventative care before paint repair?
Yahoo Message Number: 119503
Took a corner too tight and gutter scraped upper left section of rig about 18-24 inches.  No dents just see metal underneath.  Should I cover it with something while I wait to get it repaired?  Don't know if Mothership has appointments soon or what.  An about 5-6 hours driving distance for there.  Anyone have paint repairs on Central Coast of California done by reputable RV repair shops or auto painting shops?   Thanks for reading.  I am sooooo sad about this.  Anna

I would spread petroleum jelly (Vaseline) over the boo boo until you can get if repaired.

Not exactly preventative but 10,000 grade steel wool will remove a lot of rub marks and still leave the paint pretty well intact.  Of course if it's down to metal (aluminum) then its touchup paint or a real repair/paint job.  Jack

LPS-3 is very good, and it is readily removed before painting:

Call their "tech line" and talk to Vince.

Even if there were - and if you're talking about SLO county, I don't know of any - I doubt that they have the same paint as LD uses. I think that your best bet is to call the factory.
