this may be a silly question.
if you have a satellite receiver in your home can you use the receiver in our rv if your rv is equipped with a dish and not incur additional costs

 Yes, you can move your receiver from your house to your RV...it doesn't cost you anything extra.

The silliness is not in the questions, but the answers! :)
 The short answer is yes you can move the receiver.  The satellite TV company has no way to know whether or not you're picking up their signals.
 But, there are qualifications to usability.  It's especially easy to do what you suggest if your RV antenna attributes match what you have at home.  If your dish points to multiple satellites and your TV dish doesn't, you will have some issues.  If you watch local channels via satellite, generally "spot-beamed", and you move away some distance from home, you'll lose them for the duration.
 I have done what you suggest with a HD DVR receiver that has two inputs (so you can watch one thing and record another).  I bought an identical "Slimline" dish to what is on the roof at home (i.e. for satellites at 99, 101, and 103 degrees West for DirecTV) and put it on a tripod when used with the LD.  Other than losing the "local" channels, I've used the system some 600 miles away from home.

 If you use your home receiver in the motorhome there is no additional charge. It just requires rewiring coming and going.
Our son gave us his old Dish receiver, so it is counted as an additional receiver on our account.  If I remember correctly, Dish charges us an additional $7.00 a month for that additional receiver and tells us we  can drop the service when not needed and pick up when we are heading out  on the road.
Just check with your current service.
