Need advice on furnace fan speed

I asked this before but did not get any replies...
When plugged into shore power there is a noticeable drop in furnace fan speed when I turn on one of the overhead lights.  This does not happen when on battery power.  Is this normal?  We have check the power panel for dust, spider, loose connections and all appear fine.
Heading out this week for dog show and it will be cold.....want to make sure everything is ok before leaving..

Thanks, Darlene and the beagle gang

After you plugged into shore power, Darlene, did you check an outlet in the LD with a digital multimeter to see what the voltage read?  Others will chime in, but I suspect if the voltage was low - less than 105v, that might be the cause of your problem, i. e., not enough juice.

I know my husband that works with electricity daily took a meter and check multiple things...I will ask him this afternoon to make sure about the outlet.  I know he check the panel after he read the previous discussion of removing cover and checking panel in older units.

Thanks, Darlene

Trust me .... I am no pro at this, but I would unplug the generator. Then check the RV converter and turn off one switch at a time and move it to off/on. I am the one who owns a Toyota RV with dreams of an LD.  For some reason these RV's like to think they are like baby's and need to be "swaddled" once

What would unplugging the generator do?  It is not on.  I need to see if the same thing happens when generator is running...

I have just noticed it with shore power vs battery power only.
Thanks, Darlene

Darlene, Hold on, I just had to pour me another glass of Pinot Noir. I went out to my RV and disconnected my genset (is that right?) and plugged in to house power (same as shore power to me) I took plug out of generator, plugged in thing that said 125/15V plugged in extension cord from house to RV and "powered" up so I could now gas up to Canada (cold) and have all amenities I need!!!  You removed some of your notes so I don't remember all of them, put also check your battery cables for corrosion and make sure marine battery is up to snuff. Only trying to help.

I wouldn't worry about it - the converter 12V power supply is unregulated, so output may vary by a volt or so as current demand increases, and it disconnects the batteries from the converter input when plugging into shorepower. There are good reasons to upgrade to a voltage regulated and 'smart' converter, such as better battery charging. Although it will also reduce or eliminate the issue you are experiencing, I would only upgrade if you find it annoying.
Just in case you DO have a converter problem, since it should still function adequately will ALL lights and accessories running, check that out.

"I would unplug the generator."
Dennis, Lazy Dazes have generators that are built in and hardwired, so they cannot be unplugged. In addition, Darlene said she was on shore power, not generator power, so the generator can't be involved in her situation.
I think Steve's suggestion makes the most sense: Darlene has an old, unregulated converter. A new three-stage unit, such as the popular Progressive Dynamics 45A model, would not have this problem.
