Over a 1000 added western public campgrounds November 10, 2010, 08:07:52 pm Yahoo Message Number: 118163On the eve of departing on our winter's sojourn southward, I have posted an updated version of my Western US Public Campgrounds POI List. http://wxtoad.com/index.asp?page=gps/gps3.htm> It now contains 6,462 entries and when coupled with the Eastern and Central lists comprises over 12,200 campgrounds. I believe this is the most comprehensive list available. As always, corrections and additions are welcomed. Have a great winter and watch for NE-13 wandering the SE for the next 5 months.Toad[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Re: Over a 1000 added western public campgrounds Reply #4 – November 11, 2010, 11:55:24 am Yahoo Message Number: 118178First you download the POI loader from the Garvin website. The loader wants csv files so if the file is not .csv then load the file into Excel (or Open Office if you don't have Excel). From Excel you can save the file as .csv. CSV is comma seperated variables by the way...Get the loader and more info at: http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/Regards,ray 03FL Springfield, MO--

You can get Garmin's free "POI Loader" Mac software here: http://www8.garmin.com/macosx/If you need to convert the file format before uploading to your GPS with POI Loader, Apple's Numbers (part of iWork), or of course Microsoft Excel, will handle that chore. Pick up a copy of Garmin's free RoadTrip software while you're at it; it lets you edit and back up your GPS's contents on your Mac.Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/
