Because Elizabeth & I like to have extended dry camping in those beautiful out of the way boondock campgrounds, I am doing as much as I can (within reason) to make Monty as energy efficient as possible. One afternoon I was working with my head in the overhead cabinet above the dinette while the fluorescent light attached to the bottom of said cabinet had been on for a while. I found the cabinet floor above the light to be very hot from the ballast of the light fixture. I realized that if dry camping we would be wasting battery power in production of all this heat energy when all we wanted was light. Also this is where we store a lot of food items and thought this heat may not be good for the items there. I remember a couple of LED web sites I had saved from discussions in this LD group. So after some research, I found LED replacement bulbs for all the interior lighting as described in detail with each new photo in my Coachman's Enhancements to '10 RB "Monty." Yes, it was a little pricey, but the lights are rated for 60,000 hours use and use just a fraction of the energy of the bulbs the LEDs replaced. The only drawback so far is some of the LEDs are not quite as bright as the original bulbs. In four of the five fluorescent fixtures I installed three 27-LED strips instead of two which helped a lot. Both LED vendors I listed with the photos were very helpful in determining what LEDs I needed for each fixture.

While going through files in the LD Techsnoz site, I found Terry Tanner's copper fresh water tank filling wand. I too have had blow back trouble filling the fresh water tank on my '10 RB coach. After a trip to Lowes for parts, I made a modified version. Used it today and it works as advertised by Terry. Many thanks for the idea.
Another problem I have had was very high heat build up in the right rear outside storage compartment. I use this compartment for all the fresh water filling gear. The heat was due to the engine exhaust pipe passing directly under the compartment floor. The heat shield on the pipe didn't help much so I cut a piece of 3/4" foil foam insulation board that I had in my scrap bin in the shop to fit inside of the floor in the compartment. I sealed the edges and seam (it had to be installed in two pieces to pass through the door) with foil duct tape. Solved the problem. The four photos of these modifications are added to this group's photo album section in my "Coachman's Enhancements to '10 RB 'Monty'" album at the end.
