outlets not working while plugged in help October 16, 2010, 03:29:18 pm Yahoo Message Number: 117570I set up my 93 RB at the beach for my wife and her friends. She called me to report no power at the outlets. AC and microwave both work. I told her to look under the refrigerator under the panel. She is confused and it has been awhile since I have looked there. Any suggestions? I may have to drive down to get her back on if I can't talk her through it.

Tripping that breaker would give the behavior you describe. If one is labeled for outlets, have her check the position, and then flip is to off and back on aga
Re: outlets not working while plugged in help Reply #2 – October 16, 2010, 07:03:43 pm Yahoo Message Number: 117574"She called me to report no power at the outlets. AC and microwave both work." Rich nailed it. it's a tripped breaker. Your 30 power is split up like this:15A--air conditioner and microwave oven 15A--everything else, including refrigerator if set to "AUTO" These circuits are controlled by separate breakers. As Rich said, your wife has tripped one of the breakers. Cycling it all the way to off and then back on again will restore power. Next question is what she was doing that exceeded 15A and caused the breaker to trip. For example, running a hair dryer and a coffeemaker at the same time would probably do it. The rule of thumb is that heating or cooking appliances are power hogs, so they need to be used one at a time. In a pinch, she can switch the fridge to "GAS" (assuming you left her with a full propane tank)--that'll subtract 350 watts (3A at 120VAC) from the power usage, and may help.Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/
