Wisconsin Trip

Just finished our quick trip to Wisconsin.  We stayed at Devils Tower, nice camp ground. If you need power & water, there is a KOA at the entrance to the park. Stopped by Crazy Horse & Mount Rushmore. We took the scenic drive thru Custer State Park on Route 87. The first tunnel was so tight that I had to remove the mirrors to get thru. Marlys stood at the far end & guided me thru (not for the faint of heart). I left the mirrors off for the second tunnel. It was very scenic.
The trip back to Seattle we went thru Canada. A lot less traffic, a lot less places for gas. But no problems, plenty of camp grounds. We did Hwy 3 from Medicine Hat for the scenery. A couple of 5000 foot passes & a couple of smaller ones, so a lot of climbing.

We can't wait till we are retaired, so that we aren't so rushed.

I know what you went thru emotionally. I did it with a 4WD F350 and a truck camper. Much higher than a LD. Almost turned around until I saw a tour bus drive thru. Word to the wise.  Leave the mirrors extended. They are the widest part of your camper. I would rather scrape them before scraping the sides of the camper.
I love that drive, so many cork screws and tunnels that frame Mt Rushmore off

--- The 8'4" wide Needles Eye tunnel on 87 is the subject of plenty of YouTube videos; here's one of *many*:
