OK.....it is the cooling unit...no lost ammonia, or powder, but the symptoms are pretty basic...elec. and gas both "seem" to be working, and after having the burner stay on and going for over 12 hours without ANY cooling, not much else it could be.

Soooooo...instead of getting a new cooling unit, on a 13 yr.old Dometic, I am opting to replace it with a new Norcold. The price difference is $350...as far as I'm concerned, having a new frig, w/guarantee that is better engineered and has more capacity and does NOT have that %*%*(&^*%221 Ice maker as i am starting out full timing is a no-brainer.

That just leaves the old OEM Whisper King, and the water heater...wonder how long they will last? Grin!

Thanks for the feedback--as always very much appreciated!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your fridge problems, Gini! I know how costly a new one is. I think you'll be happy with the Norcold, though.

Gini, if you have any more problems we will have to start charging you a consulting fee.  ;-)   Seriously, hope this is the last one for a long time.
