 My previous Sony, wired by LD, had a two-step "off" function: if one merely pushed the "off" button briefly, the sound would go off, leaving the display showing the time.  If you held the "off" button

This thread is starting to split. I just replied to Ron (BlueBelle) and realized it is under a new subject heading.
 Thanks Toad. I also like to have a clock handy. Being both of our radios are Kenwoods I'm gonna assume the functions are the same. I took your advice and left the original connectors
