no oven

Stew and I have been fulltiming for a couple of months now and I just tried to start the oven for the second time (first time a month ago). It still won't ignite. Is there something I can check or maybe I'm doing something wrong. I am doing the same thing I've always done with ovens and that is to turn it on, wait a bit, and then get the flame to the proper thingie. The burners are working just fine. I hope someone can help or we'll just do without the oven until we move out of this rv park. Thanks guys.

Judy,
Are you pushing in the knob for some 10 seconds after the flame ignites to get the thermostatic valve heated up?  If not, it will just go off.

Not necessarily true, Alex. Someone posted some years back that all you have to do is turn the oven on to a temp, say perhaps 350, and then light the ignitor light in the oven.  Close the oven door and check in in a few minutes and you'll see the burner is going full blast.  I got tired of holding the knob in and this works on our '02 30'.

Judy, You didn't mention whether the oven starts but doesn't remain running or if you can't get it to ignite at all. In our 06 MB, the marking on the gas control knob doesn't exactly match the indicated start position. I have to turn the knob slightly beyond the indicated position to get the gas to flow and the oven to ignite.

We have no trouble getting the oven to light up, but it doesn't stay lit after we close the oven door. After many fruitless attempts, we figured out that for whatever reason, not enough oxygen is getting inside to maintain a flame, so we bought a couple of flat, fairly thin magnets and stuck them on the oven door. They are just thick enough to keep the door open a small crack, and now the oven works perfectly.

Just another possibility, admittedly not the usual suspect! :-)

Thanks both Alex and Chris for your comments. I will give it another try as soon as I have something I want to bake again.
