question for finish experts May 03, 2010, 12:29:36 pm Yahoo Message Number: 112328We live in an area surrounded by Conifers, especially pines. When the pollen is flying it's so thick you can actually see it in the air. So...cover the LD with a coat of pollen, immediately follow with a rain shower, then let it dry and you have streaks of pollen on the body, in the window tracks, etc. Suggestions for getting it off? I did a search of the site and found someone recommending the prep solution sold by the Finish First folks. I tried just hot water with a little elbow grease using a ShamWow cloth. That takes it off, but I want to make sure I'm not harming my finish with the use of the Sham Wow. Am I on the right track?Dick

After 5 years and 6 or 8 coats on mine, I can just wipe stuff like that off the LD with a bit of towel. Building up the finish is well worth the effort, especially if you have a teenager around who needs to earn a few bucks. Wax on, wax off! I don't know whether your ShamWow process might damage the finish. It's usually better to let a cleaning product loosen your dirt and use the minimum of elbow grease if there's any potential for minute scratching.Joanne in Boston NE-44

I don't have a teenager, thank goodness, but we are about out of the poly glop stuff the Mothership sells. So I will either order more poly stuff or try First Finish as FF is touted by several here as being good stuff. My question. The FF web site has categories of products: Auto and RV's and Boats. Since most RV's and almost all boats are made of FG I would guess that I should order from the Auto products. Just the polish or do I need to spring for the pre-cleaner, conditioner and enhancer??? http://www.finishfirstpolish.com/products/auto/Cheers, Don
