AAA Insurance??
Yahoo Message Number: 112141
We have AAA for our home and autos.
Our first LD purchase is in the works and we are thrilled.
We are flying up to OR from SoCal to pick her up so I called AAA to find out how to insure the LD.
Seems like I got conflicting messages. First they said we were automatically covered for 30 days, from date of purchase, without calling them (we plan on taking 10 days to get back).
Then they also said that if we called, letting them know about the purchase, we would have to get it inspected by AAA within 7 days so it would be best "not to call".

Now we are totally confused.

The LD is registered in CA currently which helps.
Surely we are not the first couple to purchase an RV and take a few days to drive it home?

This might make the timing with AAA moot:  I'd check with Progressive on their RV insurance (online?) which was far and away the best terms we found.  No inspection required either.

I'd feel better if you had coverage before driving it home.

Hope that helps and CONGRATULATIONS!!

We signed on with Progressive and were covered from the day we picked our LD up in Oregon and drove it back to Seattle. I'd also get Coach-Net or Good Sam Emergency Road Service too.

Hi Ted,
I just wanted to add some positive feedback for Progressive from an actual RV claims perspective (a comprehensive, not our fault claim).  They were quick, they were courteous, and they worked with the repair shop on an estimate for a significant claim.
We've since got our renewal and aside from resetting the deductible (it disappears over 4 years if you're claim-free), no issues.
