As I was reading Ted Houghton's musings on his website (http://wxtoad.com
http://wxtoad.com/> ) again, I went over to his LD pages.  It was then I noticed that there is now a whole section made called Post Extracts. Don't know how long they have been there but I just now noticed them.  It sure makes it easier to find articles on certain subjects as it puts so much of it altogether.  So thanks Ted, once again for making such a great contribution to help us find things just a bit (a whole lot actually) easier.

Kudo's Ted, you have greatly increased the content on your site.
Last August, I suggested we do something like that, a place to extract the best of the information in the archives and make it easy to find.
I called it a FAQ. Andy did not think much of my method and quit talking to me. And so it goes.
Ted and I exchanged a few emails on the subject and since I did not move forward on the idea I am most pleased to see that he has accepted the challenge.
Maybe you could add one more category Ted, Tow Vechiles and reference the yearly publication of two vehicles.
Oh and hey another topic, how to make coffee!!!!!

Gosh, Don, I wouldn't want people to get the impression we're not on speaking terms--especially since we've corresponded on and off, both via email and in this group for years, right up to the present!
It's true that you suggested some ideas about an external FAQ or FAQ index last fall. I did some research, tried out some of the indexing schemes we discussed, and concluded that they weren't likely to be used enough by our members to justify the ongoing effort that would be needed to maintain them, so I tabled the idea. There was certainly no personal animus on my part involved; it was simply a judgment call I made as leader of the group.

Judy & Don,

Thanks to both of you for your kind words.  The Extracts or FAQ is really pretty simple to maintain, and I'm glad some folks are finding it useful.   Yeah - I'll have to add Tow Vehicles; the only reason it isn't included is that I don't tow, so I hadn't saved anything on that subject.
I'll see what I can do.  As for the coffee....bad, bad Don!

Cheers,

Andy,
It's good to know we are still speaking. When I did not hear from you one way or the other last year. I figured you were PO.
I agreed then and now that not a lot of people would use them - at least at first. But, after a period of time of saying that's covered in the blah-blah link, they might get the hint.
I suggested that we might be able to use Art's? website for something else than a backup of messages, i.e. a FAQ. I never heard from either of you on that, so I dropped it all.
The only thing I was hung up on was it possible to link to existing Word doc's on the Yahoo site. I could never figure how those links worked for myself and only one other person.
Other than that I was not asking for your help. You have enough to do. I thought that over a period of time, with help from others, we could make it decent FAQ.

Cheers, Don
