"The 'oval' lights could be turned 90 degrees so they would be vertical and side by side by side."
In my mockup I chose not to do that, because it might have put one of the lights under the ladder. Having lights hidden by the ladder (and whatever happens to be strapped to it) has always bothered me about the old design, and I wanted to get away from that once and for all.

Interesting observation, Neal. Why would someone put a stylized letter S on every Lazy Daze. S as

After seeing the 2010 24' red LD with new changes, I am also pleased with what they have done and am anxious to pick up our new RB unit (with the new paint pattern in green). It is also good that LD is still offering the earlier (I'm not saying 'Old,' but just different) paint pattern as many have that preference. The only modifications I will be making after returning to Florida will be functional, not cosmetic. I have already gotten a dozen ideas and products from this group and I thank you all! cat heaters are great!

This may not be as interesting as getting Jim's cab curtains replaced, but.....
Some folks here have raved about cat heaters. I finally got around to getting one installed last week. After using it three times we fully agree it's worth the expense if you do any serious dry camping.
I had gotten the impression they did not give the rig that warm and toasty feel. I was wrong about that. Almost like standing over a floor furnace. That will be great when it's chilly and we are wet out of the shower. [Don't be thinking about how I look]
We have a MB, so the propane tank is just below the dinette. I had the installer grumbling about it, but he drilled a hole in the floor between the dinette and the passenger seat close to the exterior. The only way this can be seen is with a flashlight and so there is no way for anyone or anything to touch the copper tube or fitting. I attached 15 feet flexible rubber tubing from the entry fitting and that allows the heater to be placed either up front or almost to the carpet in the rear. The tubing can be coiled and stored behind the passenger seat.
I wanted to use a quick disconnect, but the installer was adamant that they were not 100% safe for indoor use. So it takes a half minute with a wrench to separate the tubing and the heater.
Using knowledge from thie forum, we have a storage bag for the heater to keep dust at bay and store the heater in the dinette.

Don

There are quick-disconnects (QDs) made for propane use.
I buy them from RV Solar Electric and have used them with good luck with them in many installations. Keep the QDs clean and cap the ends off when not in use to prevent dirt from getting into the mechanism and damaging the rubber o-rings.

Not totally trusting QDs, I always install a gas shut-off valve next to the QD and instruct the owner to always turn the valve off when the heater is not in use.
I suggest periodic testing the propane system, including the QDs, for leaks using a commercial leak detection fluid. I use Rectorseal Leak Detector, which is widely available.
http://www.buyhardwaresupplies.com/?t=5&m=g1&itemNumber=4038964 It goes on thick and stays put, on a connection, enabling the detection of very tiny leaks, which may take hours to produce a viable bubble.  The fluid is a thick soap and cleans up easily with a wet rag. It's cheap, easy to do insurance.

Larry, the "Buyhardwaresupplies" site sells the leak seal only in quantities of three bottles per order.  It's more expensive at this site, but you only have to order one bottle!

Maybe I should get three from buyhardware....., keep one, and sell two at the Yahoo gathering?  ;-)  Anyone going to  hoopla at Cachuma (March 25-28) who's interested in buying a bottle if I order three?  (Product cost + any tax + shipping share) Let me know!

Don, thanks for your report. I just had one installed but haven't used it yet. Your comments make me glad I have it and I look forward to the same warming experience you've had. I dry camp virtually all the time.

That's the same method used when I had my heater professionally installed.

In checking the new updates at the Mothership website I see they nolonger show the 24 Rear Lounge floor plan. I wonder if it's not being made, or if one needs to request it. Hmmmm.

The barrel chairs on one side used to be a standard floor plan they called the Rear Lounge. Just noting that they no longer show it as a standard model. Perhaps you can still ask for it, anyway. No matter because either one would serve my purpose.
