I thought it was just wonderful because it is level with the rest of the kitchen countertop and just folds back to expose the standard gas cooktop. When you aren't using the stove top it is as if it is all countertop....lots of room to work in the kitchen.

We ditched the stove cover years ago, I hated the way it blocked the light from the window. I use my stove a lot, at least four times a day. I knew from the start that (for me) having a stove cover was a joke. Yes, it gives you more counterspace, but then when you want to actually cook, you have to move all that stuff. I like the look of a stove in the kitchen, not fond of hiding it. All that said, I'd buy the Kodiak in a flash and fix it to suit my needs. Another question, was that a microwave I saw hanging over the sink? YUCK! I just don't see the sense in putting a window over the sink, stove area, then covering it up with a coffeepot/microwave/stove cover/whatever.As always, YMMVKate http://cholulared.blogspot.com

Previously, I always kept mine stored in the garage. A large cutting board was slipped out of a cupboard and put over the burners if I needed the counter space.David
